Your path to self sufficiency

Hybrid Cars

You do not need to compromise on looks or practicality to have a low emissions eco-friendly car. They do not look odd and may well have passed you by in the street without you noticing.
Hybrid cars have lower carbon emissions than conventional cars but higher than electric vehicles.

The dual abilities allow hybrid cars to travel further and at higher speeds than electric cars. The batteries are charged by the engine and regenerative braking while driving so they do not require plugging into a main supply like an electric vehicle.

The gasoline combustion engine provides the reliability you need when taking long journeys as the batteries do not last long when used on their own.
Importantly a hybrid car will always have a more efficient engine than a conventional vehicle and it is likely hybrids will become the standard vehicle of the future.

Benefits:

  • London Congestion Charge exemption
  • Lower car tax than conventional vehicles
  • Can be used on long journeys
  • Low carbon emissions
  • Excellent fuel economy, high MPG
  • Quick and smooth acceleration
  • Quiet start up

Refuelling hybrid cars.

Hybrid cars use conventional fuel and can be refuelled at any petrol station in the same way as a conventional car.

Emissions based car tax
All cars registered after the 1st of March 2001 in the UK are subject to emissions based car tax. Hybrid cars that have less than 100g/km of carbon emissions are exempt from tax. Those with 100 to 120g/km only pay £35 tax per 12 month period.
