Fuel Cells
Fuels cells generate electric energy from an electro-chemical reaction. Fuel cell cars do not have an internal combustion engine and instead rely on the fuel cells to generate energy. Fuel cells are in their early days and are still under development. Hydrogen will possibly become the fuel of choice as fuel cells readily create ions with Hydrogen. A common storage method of hydrogen within a car has not be resolved.
Hydrogen fuels cells and reliable cars are under development.
